GOLDSTAR AUDIENCE REVIEWS

KEVIN S.

"In the last 20 years, I have seen 3 different productions of this play. It's no wonder why it ran Off-Broadway for so long. Hilarious, but also thought provoking. I absolutely loved this cast! Really terrific actors - all of them! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!"

MY EVENTS

"Hysterically funny...I don't remember when I laughed so hard. Well cast...excellent performances by all...I brought a friend who also laughed uncontrollably....do yourself a favor...do not miss out on this outrageous comedy..."

THERESUS

"Honest, funny. Dive into a niche area of the movie business."

FRED H JOHNSON JR.

"Didn't know what to expect. I expected a play that probably wouldn't be appropriate for the local church social, and in that I found my expectation confirmed. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a play with much more substance than I anticipated. The aspect I liked best (no spoiler here) was that at one point the characters got themselves into a situation not unlike the situations that Frasier and Niles occasionally got themselves into in that well-known sitcom, "Frasier." The situation they had landed in was totally ridiculous, but the characters had no choice but to take it absolutely seriously. I found it side-splitting. The actors were all well cast and all did a great job. There were no weak links as can sometimes be found in regional theatre. In summary, a great night at the theatre."

BILL DESADORA

"Outstanding in every way."

CHARLES LoDUCA

"'Making Porn’ is an eye-popping look in to the funny and sordid world of that industry. The author Ronnie Larsen (Director), who plays the writer, producer, director slithers around the actors and his love interest throughout the play. He delivers his lines with sledgehammer 'understatement' to great comic effect. His ranting and raving is worth the price of admission. Adam Chisnall (Jamie) is the Director’s partner (of sorts) and assistant who is driven crazy by the Director’s directionless instructions. Jamie's facial expressions, while talking with the Director, is evidence of their toxic and insane relationship. Richie Stone (Ricky) is an innocent guy all too eager to get into porn. His comic timing is addictive especially when he receives an award. Richie Stone and Kyle Duggan (Jack) have a police car scene that shouldn't be missed! Kyle Duggan's character aches to become a legitimate actor, but sides into porn on a track greased by his ambitious wife Linda. Bridget Haberecht (Linda) plays a mousy character until she inhales the scent of money, and then she begins pimping her unwilling husband further into porn. BTW, after seeing this show, you’ll never look at a carton of milk the same way. See the show to find out why. Justin Younts (Ray), who has strong stage presence, plays a jaded porn star who appears to have heard/seen/done it all. It's all a big yawn for him, but the show must go on or should it? He and the Director clash non-stop for good reason. He knows the Director is a sycophant to money no matter the cost. He delivers his lines with droll sarcasm, sulfuric eye-rolls and withering side-glances, punctuating his lines with the crack of a riding crop. Ouch! ‘Making Porn’ pinballs from comic, to thought provoking and soul crushing, and finally to redemption. 'This' performance with 'this' cast must not be missed."
